I appreciate the support that many of you have given in order for this event to become a success. Becoming a member is so much more than the NUMBER you represent. It’s more about what each you bring as a whole which is, creating greater awareness! Through this event I am hoping that it will unconsciously disarm, and surprisingly encourage the producers of the show to take a good look at this disease and how debilitating it is for Sickle Cell Anemia sufferers.

Dear Oprah, 
As a member of a Facebook group called Sickle Cell Anemia Support, I am writing to implore you to do a show on Sickle Cell Anemia or to create a segment on Sickle Cell Anemia. For years you have done several shows dealing with the every-day person & the day-to-day troubles of so many of your viewers. Sickle Cell Anemia has yet to be a topic discussed on your show & so I humbly ask that you do a show on this disease that affects so many & HELP bring a voice to an illness that has been ignored and/or been looked over in so many ways! By doing a show on Sickle Cell Anemia you will be bringing about so much necessary dialogue, questions, & therefore awareness & education. That is the central goal of our group Sickle Cell Anemia Support & I thank you for your consideration.
